Day 1: Northern Lights Bus Chase Tour
Tromso northern lights

When it comes to seeing the Northern Lights, the best way to do it is by joining a Northern Lights Bus Chase Tour. We recommend booking a local tour with Get Your Guide, these tour options typically offers a 7-hour tour that includes transportation, warm clothing, and hot drinks. The guides are knowledgeable and experienced, and they’ll take you to the best spots to see the Northern Lights. Using the latest updates on weather and solar activity strength, they do their best to make sure you are based in optimal spots for Northern light spotting.

The tour usually starts at around 6 pm and ends at around 1 am. The guides will pick you up from your accommodation and take you to a location with the best chance of seeing the lights. Once you arrive, you’ll have the opportunity to set up your camera and take some amazing photos.

While you’re waiting for the lights to appear, your guide will tell you all about the science behind the Northern Lights and share some interesting stories and legends about the lights. And once the lights appear, get ready for an experience of a lifetime. The sky will be illuminated with colorful streaks of green, pink, and purple. It’s truly a magical sight to behold.

Day 2: Pust, Tromsø Luxury Spa, and Cable Car

After a night of chasing the Northern Lights, it’s time to try out Pust, a newly built floating luxury spa in Tromsø’s harbour. We highly recommend braving the cold to take a plunge in the artic waters in true Norwegian fashion before enjoying the spectacular views in the glass spa which floats serenely on the deep-blue waters and offers unbeatable views of the Mount Storsteinen and the northern lights, if you are fortunate enough in the late evening. A quintessential part of the Nordic spa culture said to offer a range of health benefits in addition to the post plunge endorphin rush, this is an experience not to be missed! Make sure you book in advance given the 20 person limit

Later in the day, take the cable car up to Mount Storsteinen for a panoramic view of Tromsø and the surrounding mountains. The cable car ride takes just a few minutes, and the view from the top is absolutely breathtaking. You can also grab a coffee or a snack at the Fjellstua restaurant while enjoying the view.

At the top, there are plenty of opportunities for photos and hiking. The hiking trails around Mount Storsteinen offer some of the best views of Tromsø and the surrounding area. This is a great opportunity to take some stunning photos for your social media feed! And if you’re feeling adventurous, you can even hike down from the top, which takes about 1.5 to 2 hours and offers even more stunning views.

Day 3: Husky Sledding Tour

On your last day in Tromsø, get your adrenaline pumping with a husky sledding tour. Tromsø Villmarkssenter is a great company to book with, as they provide transportation, warm clothing, and an introduction to the huskies.

Once you arrive at the husky camp, you’ll meet your team of huskies and your guide. The guide will give you an introduction to the huskies and show you how to drive the sled. Then, you’ll ride on a sled pulled by a team of eager dogs through the snowy landscape, with an experienced guide leading the way.

The huskies are friendly and love to be petted, and you’ll learn all about their unique personalities and traits from your guide. You’ll feel the thrill of the sled rushing through the snow and the wind in your face, making it a truly exhilarating experience.

The tour usually lasts for around 2-3 hours, and you’ll have the opportunity to take some amazing photos with the huskies and the stunning Arctic scenery. You’ll also have a chance to warm up with some hot drinks and snacks in a traditional Sami tent.
