Where the recommendations come from
Every destination on this site is somewhere I have travelled to personally. After 52+ countries, I have strong opinions about what makes a city, neighbourhood, hotel, or restaurant worth the time — and what is a tourist trap with good photography.
Recommendations are filtered through that first-hand experience, with a particular eye on what actually works for someone travelling with a laptop and deadlines. That means I notice things like whether the hotel desk is usable, whether the neighbourhood café will let you sit for three hours, and whether the wifi holds up past 9am.
How I source prices
Prices are stated in USD with GBP equivalents where useful. Personal-spend figures come from real receipts and bookings — the same way I track everything else.
Where I have not spent the money myself, I use price ranges or tier language ($, $$, $$$) rather than a single figure I cannot verify. All prices are dated or refreshed annually so you can tell how current they are.
Affiliate links
Some links on this site are affiliate links. That means if you book or buy through them I earn a small commission at no extra cost to you — and sometimes you get a discount too.
Affiliate commissions do not determine which places get recommended. If something is not worth booking, it does not get a link.
